ÒMrs. Dumont
Madam
I wrote to you last evening
to inform you of the reliable news I had just Recd [sic] from the Army in
regard to the fate of your husband- I directed that letter I think No. 2 Cooper Street,
if so, you may not get it, therefore I write this morning again.
If you will call at my
office now I will talk with you about your matter - I have the statistics
sufficient now for you to proceed to your claims on the Govt
Your husbandÕs decease has
been established – Though sad is [p.2] the intelligence – You have
no further hope of his being living -
